Raingarden Workshops Coming!!!!

A raingarden is a shallow depression which intercepts stormwater from roofs, roads, and other impervious surfaces to allow water to infiltrate to the ground. This helps reduce the volume of water running off into our lakes and streams, improving water quality and reducing peak flows. Raingardens are full of native plants that beautify your property, attract wildlife, and reduces your needs for lawn watering.

We will be holding four workshops during the Rice County Fair to discuss the benefits of raingardens and explain how to build one. Come out to the fair and check out our new raingarden next to the conservation building. Workshop times are as follows:

Wednesday, July 16th at 1:00 PM

Thursday, July 17th at 6:00 PM

Friday, July 18th at 6:00 PM

Saturday, July 19th at 1:00 PM

The 2007 Annual Report is now available. You can find it on the Plans and Reports page.
